It is common that mist and cold are very severe at midnight in December and January. The cold will gradually increase peak at midnight and gradually decrease at the same rate of severity, but in the recent two years one can feel very less mist or cold or even no mist and no cold stage - that could not felt at the mid-nights between 12 .00 to 3.00 am . However the cold and mist is intolerably high at late nights around 10pm and early mornings in 6.00 am .
The area of Land cultivation has been declining every year and is fifty percent less in the rural area than in the last five years on average. Agricultural income reduces to half in the rural area and cooli workers are migrating to towns in few numbers.
Birds are nesting at the top surface of the trees which is new. Usually birds will form nests at the lower branches or barks. This shows that rain will not come for that respective season.
Avarai Beans is a local bean which is mostly grown by rural women in kitchen gardens. These have been sown in the month of July and flowers form in the month of November. These days the flowering season advances to the beginning of October.
Madapura is a one variety of dove bird which is sheltered in the tall and big old buildings and monuments where there is no human disturbances and feel cool climate. These doves can not be seen now because of the high temperature in its shelter. Its count has been reducing year by year .
Observational Evidences WITH RESPECT TO the Tamilnadu state
* Frequent Flooding of Cauvery river ( a life line of the Tamilnadu state ) over the past five years this has driven thousands from their homes delta districts
*Cyclone called NISHA has killed thousands and displaced thousands more in Tamilnadu .
*Torrential rains have caused terrible land slides across the Nilagiri and Servarayan Hills Tamilnadu .
*Weakened monsoon in the present year 2009 is causing the drought which threatens lakhs of farmers all over Tamilnadu
*Number of farmers suicide is increasing and becoming terrible human toll
These disasters exact an economic cost - with the loss of economic growth in local area from environmental causes equivalent to double that from the global economic crisis, each and every year.
Tamilnadu Rural people are poor and vulnerable to these natural disaster and severely affected by the climate change. We can not hope to eliminate poverty in Tamilnadu with out facing this global climate challenge. It is not possible to achieve a global climate deal with out facing this region’s development challenge.
