Current environmental situation and its impact in Uganda

I am sending you some updates based on current environmental situation and its impact in Uganda.
Updates
• The weather is almost unpredictable compared to past 10 years when farmers knew the weather pattern that giuded the agricultural calender at grassroot level.
• The water table has dropped and well construction in some areas is difficult even with a hydrological survey.
• The famine and drought in Uganda (west, east, north regions) has left livestock and people dead
• There are rising food prices due to food scarcity and some food products are already getting off the market like milk and milk products
• There is on going inter regional food transfers that have gone unsupervised leading to food losses at household level.
Premature harvest of fish stock has left ugandan water bodies with dropping fish levels and limited fish stock amidst high fish harvest have left the fish export industry in Uganda in reducing fish quotas with her business partners.
Views
• NGOs like Go-green -uganda can make a difference in the areas of operation, the issues of enviromental safety and sustainability is the duty of all users of the ecosystem, Continued education and safe practices can place Uganda back to green cover especially when institutions can be assisted to participate in the Early Warning systems in place.
