Sierra Leone facing less rains
As I read the article about Kenya, then I just begin to realize that this is truly a global crisis. Sierra Leone as a country usually experiences rains in early or mid May, but due to the high level of deforestation for the purpose of burning coals, fetching woods and building dwellings, the country has not experienced rains and hereby making it very difficult for the Government to switch on the Bumbuna Hydro Electric power supply engine that has just been completed. Farming is also facing some threat due to the very little amount of rains this year even though we are hopeful that it will change.
I am still of a very strong conviction that as a people, we have a lot more to do to protect our environment and our common humanity.
